Here's your chance to tell me all about it. I'll choose a post number using random.org next Friday (October 5th at noon CST) and the winner will recieve a gift.

More Christmas Cards

I've really been enjoying making these Christmas cards for this weekend's Christmas Card Stamp & Swap. I used the On Board Simon Lower Letters for the "H" and covered it with papers from the Dashing set. The Happy Holidays (from "Many Merry Messages") is stamped on Wild Wasabi and underlined with Wild Wasabi double stiched ribbon. The tree is from "Loads of Love" and the card and grossgrain ribbon on the "H" are both "Real Red". All items are SU! copyright 1996-2007 Stampin' Up! (r).

The first time I was the "Holy Triptych" stamp set, I was extremely excited to get it in my hands and start playing with it. Well, I've had a really hard time actually producing anything I was happy with. . . until this card. The greens include, "wild wasabi", "handsome hunter", & "certainly celery". The paper is from the "Wintergreen" set. I'm fairly pleased with the way this one turned out.
This next card didn't turn out quite the way I had imagined. I used my versamark pen to silver emboss the end of the ornament (from "Sparkling Sayings"). The paper is from "Dashing" nad the tree is from the hostess set "Perfect Presentation". The silver eyelets seemed to tie in well with the silver on the ornament and the silver elastic cord from the mini catalog.

I also like this card. the paper is from the set "Wintergreen". The stamp is from the hostess set "Sidekick Sayings".

I'm really excited for the upcoming party, and also excited about the World Card Making Day party the following weekend. Come join us!

It's Beginning to look alot like Christmas Cards

Well, with the upcoming Christmas in September Stamp & Swap I've been working rather dilligently on getting as many Christmas card samples complete as I can. Here are just a few. . . I don't want to completely spoil the suprise for those who have registered for the event.
All products shown here are SU! and copyright Stampin' Up! 1996 - 2007

This set is "Perfect Presenation" It's a hostess set in the current catalog. I've been trying to reach outside of my box & comfort level and use new colors on my christmas cards.

This set is "Solemn Stillness" with the Dashing SD papers in the background. I'm still not completely pleased with the look, but I love this set and these papers!

So this idea looked much better in my mind than on paper. . . what do you guys think?
Hopefully I'll have more to show be Friday of this week. I know tomorrow there will be no uploads but check back Friday and Saturday. Have a great week. Enjoy you life and make time to stanp!

New Stuff to Play With!

Well, my new stuff came in yesterday and I actually had time to make a few cards today. ALL made with SU! stuff ONLY! Most of what I'll probably be posting the next few days will be Christmas Cards for my upcoming Stamp & Swap. . . . without further adoooooooo

This is the 3X3 card I did in response to Beate's Weekend Challenge.

I had tons of fun making this card. I stamped the white stars on a white piece of paper with versamark and then embossed with clear. Then I sponged on the blue and embossed two more stars with silver. I like the final look, but might play with it more. . . just to see what else I can do.

2 While Waiting

Well, my SU! order got pushed off until tomorrow, so I didn't get to play with my new things tonight. But I did play, none the less. The first card was in response to Beate's challenge. I've really been inspired by her blog lately and enjoyed tonight's challenge. The papers aren't SU! but the stamp is from the SU! hostess set "Garden Silhouettes". I LOVE THIS SET! It's so versitile and fun.

I know I'm going to get in trouble with a couple of people for not posting a card with SU! papers recently, so. . . . .

This one's also for my mom. She and I were talking the other day about colors for Christmas cards and she mentioned Bravo Burgandy. I really wasn't sure, so I tried it tonight. I really like the outcome. The stamp is from the hostess set "Perfect Presentation" and the printed paper is Stampin' Up! (r) DS Double Sided papers "Brocade Background". I've been wanting to try it on a Christmas card and was pleasently suprised at how it turned out.

Hope to be back more this weekend with new goodies!

Labor Day Challenge

Well even though it doesn't feel like fall, Labor Day means that fall is coming. So, today I was challenged by my SCS Flybaby group to make a card using fall colors. I love this new hostess set "Garden Silhouettes" and I think the card turned out great. It's not a really good picture of the card, I might re-take this picture later and update. . . . but, for now, here it is.

The card is Close to Cocoa, the green is Old Olive. I first stamped the image in Always Artichoke and then in versa mark. The I sprinkled Stampin' Emboss Powder (r) in rust in the middle and dark brown on the edges and embossed. It's hard to see the color change but it adds a nice touch. There is olive organdy ribbon behind the chocolate grossgrain too. I'd love to see some other fall card from you all. . . .
